IM's time at SPINES!

1 min read

I had the incredible opportunity to join the 2026 SPINES cohort at the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) with support from The National Institutes of Health (NIH). SPINES was a truly transformative experience that had a lasting impact on my scientific development. Through hands-on training, I gained experience in advanced research techniques, including electrophysiology, zebrafish research, light-sheet microscopy, and scientific communication. This experience strengthened my confidence as a researcher, broadened my scientific perspective, and helped shape my future career goals in neuroscience. I am deeply grateful to the SPINES co-directors Stephanie Correa, Gerald Downes, Elva Diaz, the incredible faculty, and my fellow SPINES mates for creating such an inspiring and collaborative learning environment. It was a privilege to learn from so many outstanding mentors. Thank you again to MBL and the NIH for making this incredible opportunity possible. I look forward to applying what I’ve learned as I continue my journey in neuroscience!
